The symmetrical rope baskets of the Ultra O are ideal for assisted breaking devices, pulleys, swivels, and shackles. They also provide stable loading characteristics, as attachments can self-centre under load with minimal movement from the carabiner. The oval shape allows for central positioning of devices, making it popular in rope access and tree care situations where multiple connectors, slings, ropes, or even pulleys can be connected. These oval connectors are equally suitable for fall arrest situations or as part of a pre-rigged rescue system. The round basket shape allows any of the connection points to self-centre when weighted, helping to avoid the unnerving click that often occurs with more D-shaped connectors.
DMM's patented 'Taperlock' closing mechanism increases gate push-in and cross gate strength using a special flared profile on the nose of the carabiner, as well as allowing a snag-free connection for your ropes, slings, and devices. The keylock clean nose design also ensures a snag-free connection.
